DeVante Pickering, Founder & President

DeVante Pickering, a St. Croix native, is a technology leader with over a decade of experience delivering solutions across startups, Fortune 50 companies, and the public sector.

His journey began at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where during his sophomore year he rebuilt the application for Uni-Spire, an EdTech startup in collaboration with the university's Education Department and Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. After graduating, DeVante joined Wells Fargo's Emerging Talent Program, working on teams that built critical authentication features for the bank's mobile application. His experience spans major financial institutions like Barings and Ally Lending (where he joined as an early engineer post-acquisition), as well as consulting firms like The Judge Group. He also oversaw technology for Disctopia, a startup in the media streaming space.

Across this work, one pattern stood out: developers were expected to deliver more features, in cloud-native environments, without downtime, while often being left out of infrastructure design and provisioning. This often led to bottlenecks with Operations or Security teams, which eventually led to missed deadlines and frustration amongst teams. When they were allowed to contribute, it usually meant clicking around in a portal, creating environmental drift, and transferring the "it works on my machine" problem to the cloud. 

This inspired DeVante to start Pick2 Solutions, a firm focused on democratizing the infrastructure and software delivery process. By leveraging IaC, CI/CD, AI, and automation, Pick2 helps engineering teams deliver value faster while maintaining rigid security standards and mitigating risk.
